At the invitation of Prof. Chen Liming from the School of Life Science of our school, Prof. Wu Kongming, Distinguished Professor of Hubei Province and Professor of Cancer Center of Tongji Hospital affiliated to Huazhong University of Science and Technology, came to our school for academic communication on October 19th.
At 2:00 pm on October 19th, Prof. Wu Kongming gave an academic report entitled “RDGN Signal Network with Tube Development and Disease” to the teachers and students of our school in the circular lecture hall of the School of Life Science.Professor Wu Kongming mainly introduced four aspects in the report:
- DACH-EYA-SIX signal and organ development research: The DACH-EYA-SIX gene network was an important signal for organ development and its dysfunction was associated with various human diseases;
- DACH-EYA-SIX signal and the clinical significance of breast cancer: DACH1 expression decreased in the course of breast cancer lesions, while EYA1 and SIX1 function enhanced.Due to close relation to disease progression and prognosis, DACH1was a potential molecular marker;
- Molecular mechanism of anti-cancer effect of DACH1:Dysfunction of DACH-EYA-SIX led to malignant biological behaviors such as proliferation, invasion and stemness of breast cells;
- 4. Targeting the possible pathways of DACH-EYA-SIX signal can provide ideas for finding potential targets for breast cancer treatment.
Through Professor Wu's in-depth theoretical introduction, the teachers and students broadened their research ideas and academic vision. The academic communication meeting ended with enthusiastic applause.
