Dr. James T Stull was a professor of UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. He was appointed as the director of physiology department from 1986 to 2016. His research was focused on the contractile regulation mechanism of skeletal muscle, cardiac muscle and smooth muscle. He has published more than 230 papers. As an international renowned scientist of physiology and biochemistry, he hasserved as editor board member of American Journal of Physiology, Physiological Reviews, Circulation Research, Journal of Biological Chemistry, Trends in Cardiovascular Medicine; he servedas Associate Editor of the Journal of Biological Chemistry from 1993 to 2013. Dr. Kristein E Kamm is a longtime collaborator of Dr. Stull. She was a professor of UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. She has published more than 80 papers, and participated more than 20 international conferences as an invited speaker.She was also an excellent educator. From 2008, she was appointed as a distinguished teaching professor, and in 2013, she was given the UT Regents’ Outstanding Teaching Award.
