Dr. Ji and Wang Attended The 14th Zhejiang Fisheries Science and Technology Forum

On December 5, 2019, the 14th Zhejiang Fisheries Science and Technology Forum was held in Huzhou, Zhejiang Province. The event was hosted by the discipline group of Freshwater Fisheries and Germplasm Resources Utilization, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Areas of China,  the National Shrimp and Crab Industry Technology System and Fisheries Society of Zhejiang Province. The forum is organized by the Institute of Freshwater Fisheries of Zhejiang province, Institute of Marine Fisheries of Zhejiang province, Marine Aquaculture Institute of Zhejiang province, and Agriculture and Rural Bureau of Huzhou City.
Academician Jianfang Gui, Colin Valverde, the President of the Crayfish Culture Association of Northern Queensland, Australia and chief manager of Aquaverde crayfish Co., Ltd, and Yang Qian, President of Greenway Aquatic Science and Technology Development Co., Ltd., as well as 260 experts and scholars were invited to attend the forum.

Academician Jianfang Gui was invited to make the opening ceremony report entitled " Innovation of Breeding Biotechnology and Development of Aquiculture Breeding Industry ". The forum was established to implement the strategy of rural revitalization, enhance the innovation ability of fishery science and technology, and stimulate the creativity of scientific and technological personnel.

Dr. Jie Ji and, Dr. Tao Wang, as well as other graduate students from the Prof. ShaoWu Yin’s lab attended the meeting. Dr. Jie Ji made a report entitled "Systematic study on the toll-like receptor family of Mediterranean amphioxus". Dr. Jie Ji found a new type of TLR22-like gene in amphioxus which can recognize the double stranded viral RNA for the first time. This will reveal the possible evolution mechanism of virus receptor TLRs, and has attracted the extensive attention of the fellow scholars. He presented the TLR gene family of Mediterranean amphioxus in detail at the meeting.
