On August 17-18th, the "Purple Mountain Forum" — International Forum on Smart Grid Protection and Control was successfully held at the Conference Center of NARI Group Corporation. The "Purple Mountain Forum" is one of the most influential annual academic activities in the field of smart grid in China. This conference is guided by China Electrical Engineering Institute, sponsored by State Grid Electric Power Research Institute Co., Ltd. (Nanrui Group Co., Ltd.) as well as the State Key Laboratory of Smart Grid Protection and Control, and co-sponsored by Journal of Power System Automation as well as the School of NARI Electrical and Automation Engineering, Nanjing Normal University. The conference attracted more than 600 guests from academic institutions, research institutions, universities, and electric power enterprises from 7 countries including China, the United States, Canada, Greece, Denmark, Australia, and the Netherlands. They shared their latest research works on smart grid, Ubiquitous Power Internet of Things (UPIoT), and artificial intelligence.
More than 40 teachers and graduate students of our school attended the meeting.
In this "Purple Mountain Forum", our school was responsible for the session of "presentation of excellent papers". The session was hosted by Dr. Li Xingshuo. The authors of excellent papers made oral presentation for their papers, of which research area include parallel simulation of power system transients, re-utilization of decommissioned battery of the electrical vehicles, control strategy of virtual synchronous generators, etc. Teachers and postgraduate students of our school attended the section and carefully listened to the presentation. During the discussion, they engaged in academic discussions with the authors and learned a lot.
