Equivalences of Algebras and Equivalences of Matrices
On May 22, 2026, at the invitation of the School of Mathematical Sciences of our university, Professor Changchang Xi from the School of Mathematical Sciences of Capital Normal University delivered an academic report titled Equivalences of Algebras and Equivalences of Matrices. Some faculty members and postgraduate students from the Geometry and Algebra Research Office of our School of Mathematical Sciences attended this lecture. Changchang Xi is a professor, doctoral supervisor and Cheung Kong Distinguished Professor at Capital Normal University. He was awarded the German Humboldt Prize for Outstanding Young Scholars and the Second Prize of Science and Technology Progress from the Ministry of Education of China. He obtained his doctoral degree from Bielefeld University, Federal Republic of Germany, under the supervision of the world-renowned expert in representation theory of algebras, Professor Claus Michael Ringel. Professor Xi has long been engaged in research on representation theory of algebras and related topics. He has published academic papers in many major international journals including Advances in Mathematics, Communications in Mathematical Physics, Compositio Mathematica, Journal für die reine und angewandte Mathematik, Mathematische Annalen and Proceedings of the London Mathematical Society, etc. He has participated in and chaired key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China for multiple times, and serves as an editorial board member for international mathematics journals including Journal of Algebra, Archiv der Mathematik and other publications.(By Haicheng Zhang)
