DETAILS:Ju Qiangchang, a researcher and doctoral supervisor of Beijing Institute of Applied Physics and Computational Mathematics. After receiving bachelor's and master's degrees from Henan Normal University, he received his Ph.D. from the Institute of Mathematics, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2003, and was taught by Xiao Ling as a researcher. Postdoctoral studies were conducted in Germany and Italy from 2003 to 2005. In the past five years, he has published more than 20 papers in Adv. Math., ARMA and CMP and other important international academic journals. He has presided over two projects on the National Fund and one project on cooperation between China and Israel. He has participated in 973 projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology as the head of sub-projects.
ABSTRACT::Singular limits of the equations of compressible ideal magnetohydrodynamicswith physical boundary conditions are considered. Theuniform existence of classical solutions with respect to both the reciprocalsof Mach and Alfv’en numbers are established by energy methods.Under appropriate conditions on the initial data, convergence of the solutionsof the original system is proved as the two large parameters tendto infinity with the limiting solutions satisfying the two-dimensional incompressibleflow.
