The Symposium on Graph Theory and Combinatorics of Yangtze River Delta of 2016Successfully Held in NNU

From April 15th to 17th, the Symposium on Graph Theory and Composition of Yangtze River Delta of 2016 was successfully held in Xianlin campus, NNU, hosted by the School of Mathematical Sciences.

In the opening ceremony on April 16th, ProfessorYongzhongSong, the Secretary of Party Committee of NNU, delivered a warm opening speech, extending the great gratitude to all of the participants who have been constantly caring about the development of the School of Mathematical Sciences in NNU , and briefly introduced the development and achievement of subject construction in NNU. Professor Yongchuan Chen from Nankai University, who is also the former chairman of the Chinese Society of Combinatorics and Graph Theory and the academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, delivered speeches on the opening ceremony, affirms the significance role that the team on Graph Theory and Combinatorics in NNU played in the development of Graph Theory and Composition. The professors also spoke highly of high level symposium hosted by the School of Mathematical Sciences, NNU. The symposiumwas chaired by the endowed professor BaogangXu from NNU, who is the secretary-general of the Chinese Society of Combinatorics and Graph Theory.

At the symposium, 36 experts and scholars from home and abroad delivered wonderful speeches on their latest research achievements, including academicianYongchuan Chen from Nankai University, professor Xueliang Li from Nankai University, professor Xuding Zhu from Zhejiang Normal University, professor GennianGe from Capital Normal University, professor Jun Wang from Shanghai Normal University, professor Zhiwei Sun from Nanjing University, professor Yongnan Ye from Academia Sinica, professor Douglas B. West from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. All the reports covered every aspect of Graph Theory and Combinatorics.

Over 100 domestic and foreign representatives from Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science, Tsinghua University,Beijing Normal University, Beijing Jiaotong University, Capital Normal University, Dalian University of Technology, Nankai University, Tianjin University, Fudan University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Tongji University, East China Normal University, Shanghai University, University of Science and Technology of China, Anhui University, Zhejiang University, Zhejiang Normal University, Shandong University, Xiamen University, Fuzhou University, Hunan University, Central China Normal University, Xidian University, South China Normal University, Guangxi Normal University and other universities in Jiangsu province also attended the symposium.

This symposiumhas obtained the support from the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the funds for the Outstanding Disciplines of Jiangsu Province. The success of the symposium provided a platform of academic exchange for the experts and scholars from universities and institutions so as to strengthen the cooperation and academic exchange between NNU and other universities and institutions, which would enlarge the influence of the team on Graph Theory and Combinatorics in NNU overthe world.
