Supported by Nanjing Normal University, School of Physical Science and Technology and Jiangsu Key Lab on Opto-Electronic Technology hosted a guest lecture “Study of low-frequency sound absorption based on acoustic metamaterials” on March 8, 2021 in Conference Room 437 of Xingjian building. This lecture was conducted by Professor Cheng Ying of Institute of Acoustics in Nanjing University. He introduced the research background, development and application trends of acoustic metamaterials, and addressed the applications of artificial acoustic structural materials with subwavelength thickness in low-frequency sound absorption. The lecture was well attended. After the report, Professor Cheng Ying had an in-depth discussion with the teachers and students on acoustic metamaterials and low-frequency sound absorption, and patiently answered the questions from attendants.
