Supported by Nanjing Normal University, School of Physical Science and Technology and Jiangsu Key Lab on Opto-Electronic Technology hosted a guest lecture “Study of low-artifact photoacoustic brain imaging through skull” on March 8, 2021 in Conference Room 437 of Xingjian building. This lecture was conducted by Professor Tao Chao of Institute of Acoustics in Nanjing University. He addressed the photoacoustic imaging, which is a new biomedical imaging technology based on photoacoustic effect. This presentation introduced the principle of photoacoustic imaging, several common implementation schemes, and some preliminary exploration of photoacoustic brain imaging carried out by the photoacoustic imaging research group of Nanjing University. The lecture was well attended. After the report, Professor Tao Chao had an in-depth discussion with the teachers and students on photoacoustic imaging, and patiently answered the questions from attendants.
