On the afternoon of October 31, 2020, Prof. Han Buxin who comes from the Institute of Psychology, Chinese Academy Sciences, gave a lecture entitled “Active Health and the COVID-19 Pandemic”. The lecture was hosted by Prof. Deng Zhu (Dean of our School of Psychology, Nanjing Normal University). Prof. Wang Fengyan, Prof. Liu Guoxiong, and other faculty and students from our School of Psychology attended the lecture.
Prof. Han is the president of the Chinese Psychological Association, and his research interests focus on healthy development, cognitive aging, and psychology of religion. In this lecture, Prof. Han first shared the contributions made by the Chinese Psychological Association during the COVID-19 pandemic, including the popularization of psychological science for the general public and the reduction of panic among the general public, as well as the psychological support for the medical staffs. He then indicated the concept of “active health” and suggested that there would be have unique meaning of active health during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In the last Question & Answer session, Prof. Han had positive discussions with the faculty and students. The lecture arose the great interests of faculty and students and was ended in applause.
