The Second Jinling Film and Television Graduate Forum of Nanjing Normal University was held in Nanjing

On December 12, 2020, the second Jinling Film and Television Graduate Forum of Nanjing Normal University was held in Nanjing. The forum was guided by the Teaching Guidance Committee of the Ministry of Education for the Department of Drama and Film and Television, and the Film and Television Teaching Committee of the Chinese University Film and Television Society, sponsored by Graduate School of Nanjing Normal University (Graduate Department), School of Arts, Nanjing Normal University, Key Discipline of Drama and Film studies, Department of Film and Television Arts, School of Arts, Nanjing Normal University, and China Academy of Non-fiction. The entire forum adopted the RTX Meeting and was broadcast live on the Bilibili website simultaneously.

With the theme of The Creation and Dissemination of Realistic Films and TV Dramas in the Age of Media, this forum specially invited a number of well-known domestic film and television academics, editors or editors of relevant journals, and graduate students to give keynote speeches from more than 50 domestic universities. More than 90 doctoral and master graduate students from China participated in the conference to discuss the relevant topics of reality-themed film and television dramas in the era of media, grasp its current situation and new trends and challenges, and explore new spaces and new ways for its future development.

 

The opening ceremony of the forum was presided over by Yu Qiong, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Literature, Nanjing Normal University, the director of the Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education of the University of Drama and Film, the vice president of the Chinese University Film and Television Society and the chairman of the Film and Television Teaching Committee, and the Art and Media of Beijing Normal University. Zhou Xing, professor and doctoral supervisor of the college, Luo Yulan, director of the Graduate School (Research and Engineering Department) of Nanjing Normal University, Gao Feng, the dean, professor, and doctoral supervisor of the School of Literature of Nanjing Normal University, delivered speeches successively. Professor Zhou Xing first affirmed the theme design of the forum, and stated that in the era of media, it is necessary to analyze and research realistic film and television dramas from different angles, so as to pay attention to the current reality and insight into the frontiers of the times, and look forward to full exchanges and discussions. Minister Luo Yulan briefly introduced the basic situation of Nanjing Normal University and the status and future of graduate education to the guests and graduate students. He affirmed the value and significance of this forum and sincerely thanked all the experts and scholars for their guidance. Dean Gao Feng introduced the development history, discipline construction, faculty and talent training of the School of Chinese Language and Literature, Nanjing Normal University. He sincerely hoped that all guests and graduate students would have full exchanges and interactions in this forum to promote the discipline of film and television and strengthen the improvement of the quality of graduate education.

 

The thematic forum and journal exchange unit were hosted by Wang Hui, the leader of the key disciplines of drama, film and television at Nanjing Normal University, and the executive dean, professor and doctoral supervisor of the Chinese Academy of Non-fiction at Nanjing Normal University. In his speech, Professor Zhou Xing elaborated on the relevant concepts of the media era, and analyzed the changes in the creation of film and television dramas in the media era from four aspects: external form, content of expression, audience and evaluation. Zhou Anhua, director, professor, and doctoral supervisor of the Asian Film, Television and Media Research Center of Nanjing University, discussed the creation of reality-themed film and television dramas in the era of media, combined with the case analysis of many domestic film and television dramas, and called for film and television creation based on realistic issues. The reality reflects the symptoms of a specific era. Zhang Yan, Secretary-General of the Teaching Steering Committee for Drama and Film Majors in Universities of the Ministry of Education, Deputy Chairman and Secretary-General of the Film and Television Teaching Committee of the Chinese University Film and Television Society, Professor of Art and Media College of Beijing Normal University, and Ph.D. Supervisor Zhang Yan conducted Hong Kong New Wave Films Re-examining it, I believe that on the one hand, we must inherit its realistic aesthetic spirit of facing social reality, paying attention to small people, and depicting daily life. It must also open up co-production within the structure of Hong Kong's film industry, enhance the thinking of excellent films, and rebuild the main body of Hong Kong movies on the screen. Peng Tao, deputy dean, professor and doctoral supervisor of the School of Journalism and Communication of Central China Normal University, pointed out in his speech that reality-themed film and television dramas must question reality, represent reality, and speak reality. The reality of Chinese films in the new century is mainly reflected in realism and metaphors. 

 

In the afternoon of the same day, three sub-forums with teachers from the Department of Drama and Film and Television of Nanjing Normal University as the host and reviewer were launched in a warm atmosphere. Graduate students from more than 50 colleges and universities across the country focused on the theme of the conference "Creation and Dissemination of Realistic Movies and TV Series in the Era of Fusion Media", respectively, on "Creation and Reflection of Realistic Movies in the Era of Fusion Media" and "Realistic TV Dramas in the Age of Media Three topics such as the creation and reflection of drama) and the dissemination and development of realistic film and television dramas in the age of fusion media have conducted extensive and in-depth “cloud” discussions.

 

Experts and graduate students at the conference agreed that this forum has built a good learning and communication platform for young students. Through cloud seminars, postgraduates have conducted high-level academic exchanges across regions, schools, and disciplines, broadening their academic thinking and fields. Through the collision and integration of ideas, they also stimulate innovative thinking and lay a foundation for improving academic innovation capabilities. solid foundation. The closing ceremony of the forum was hosted by Professor Wang Hui. Jia Jichuan, director, professor, and doctoral supervisor of the Film and Television Department of Nanjing Normal University, announced the list of excellent papers for the forum.
