Introduction to Sun Daogong

 

Ⅰ.Personal Profile

Daogong Sun, a male born in May 1977 in Rizhao, Shandong, is a member of the Communist Party of China. He holds a doctoral degree in Literature, and serves as a professor and doctoral supervisor. Currently, he is the deputy dean of the School of Chinese Language and Literature at Nanjing Normal University, overseeing the master's program in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics. His primary research areas include theoretical linguistics, semantic knowledge bases, and language teaching. Among the undergraduate courses he teaches are: "Semantics," "Modern Chinese," "Introduction to Linguistics," "History of Linguistics," "Reading and Writing of Language Technology Papers," "Methodology of Language Research," "Introduction to Western Linguistic Treatises," "Chinese Grammar," "Sociolinguistics," "Cultural Linguistics," "Traditional Language and Writing Studies," and "Chinese Dialectology." His graduate-level courses include: "Theoretical Linguistics," "Introduction to Semantic Grammar," "Grammar," and "Topics in Syntax and Semantics."

Ⅱ.Personal Experience


Since August 2008, I have been working at the School of Chinese Language and Literature, Nanjing Normal University.
In June 2015, I was a visiting scholar at the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom.
In June 2008, I graduated from the Linguistics and Applied Linguistics program at Nanjing Normal University, obtaining a Doctor of Literature degree.
In June 2005, I graduated from the Chinese Language and Philology program at Yantai Normal College, obtaining a Master of Literature degree.
