Bio: 

Yu Wenbo, (1989-)born in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, Ph.D. in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics, Lecturer in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics. My research focuses on cognitive processing of language, primarily the mechanisms about dialogue and statistical learning. I encourage students to engage in research which is interesting, scientific, and valuable.

Courses: General Psychology, Psycholinguistics, Experimental design of Psycholinguistics, Data Science and Data Aesthetics Based on R.

2. Research focus: dialogue

The use of language is the most typical cooperative phenomenon among humans. In conversation, how do individuals sustain this cooperative behavior? What are the differences in conversational mechanisms among people with different personalities? What are the specific conversational characteristics of special populations, such as autistic children? We aim to explore related issues with various psycholinguistics methods, such as eye-tracking and fNIRS.

3. Research focus: statistical learning

Extracting probabilistic relationships among linguistic symbols is a fundamental ability of the human brain, and it directly affects various aspects of language acquisition. What kind of approach should be adopted to measure statistical learning ability? How statistical learning are related to second language acquisition? We attempt to explore the differences in measuring statistical learning ability with different paradigms, as well as conduct research on natural language.
