Our cooperation with over 30 overseas universities from more than 20 countries and regions have brought students to and from our university in a two-way mode of learning experience. We also lead the operation of two Confucius Institutes in the (North Carolina State University, U.S., and Alsace, France) by sending faculty members to work as directors and Chinese language teachers.

The international faculty of over 200 teachers (including native-speaker teachers from 10 different countries) are working hard to create an inspiring environment for learning and research. The School’s three academic platforms --- Semiotic Studies, Neurolinguistics, and World Civilizations Studies --- have put us on the international map of language and cultural studies. We have two professors working on the Executive Board of the International Association for Semiotic Studies. Three English journals --- Chinese Arts & Letters, Chinese Semiotic Studies, and Language and Cognitive Science --- published in the U.K. or Germany, are edited by our faculty members to contribute to the international academic community from the Chinese perspective.

Being an active partner with translation, localization and other language services industries, we have been cooperating with government organizations, enterprises, and research institutes in providing language consultation and education services, creating job and internship opportunities, and enriching local communities with international communications.

We have been preparing confident and competent professionals for the society since 1952, from outstanding school teachers to university presidents, and from world-renowned scholars to Fortune Magazine Top 10 entrepreneur, and from successful diplomats.
