Students from the School of Foreign Languages and Cultures(SFLC) presented themselves during the 2020 Zheng Zhirong Cultural Celebration, which was hosted by the Wochuan Cultural Institute of South Korea and undertaken by Hangzhou Normal University. This year the whole event was held online due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
There were two major contests during this event—the writing contest and the poem recitation contest. On November 20th, Cai Liting, a student from the Korean-English bilingual major of (SFLC) won the first prize for
her brilliant performance at the 24th writing contest. Besides, Lian Tingting and Chen Lingyi, won the third prize and the honorable mention respectively in the 4th poem recitation contest. It consisted of two parts—the preliminary round and the final, both evaluated by the videos contestants had submitted. The two students made it to the final.
Participants of the two contests were coached by the teaching team of the Korean Department of the SFLC. Through the competition, the contestants deepened their understanding of Zheng Zhirong, the great poet, and improved their competence in Korean poetry appreciation and literary creation.
