The School of History and Archaeology has two departments: the Department of History and the Department of Cultural Relics and Museology. It offers five undergraduate majors, including History (dual subject master's level teacher training experimental class), History (teacher training), History, Archaeology, and Cultural Relics and Museology.

         The School currently has two doctoral degree authorization points in Chinese history and archaeology, as well as two postdoctoral mobile stations. It also has three master's degree authorization points in Chinese history, archaeology, and world history, as well as two master's degree authorization points in museums and cultural relics. The college also publishes academic collections such as "Suiyuan Historiography" and "East Asian Civilization". The college has key research institutions such as the China Economic History Research Center, the Anti Japanese War Research Center, and the Six Dynasties History and Culture Research Institute. The "Nanjing History and Culture Science Popularization Base" has been approved as a science popularization demonstration base in JiangSu Province.
