On November 25, the 115th On Tao Forum of School of Public Administration was held in room 634-a, Xingmin building. The theme of this lecture was "Changing China, Changing Japan and Changing Relations between China and Japan ". Jiang Feng, the editor-in-chief of Japanese Monthly of People’s Daily Overseas Edition, and the director of the Asian Research Center of the Huazhi Institute for Global Governance of Nanjing University, were invited to be the keynote speakers. The lecture was presided over by Li Guanqun, associate professor of School of Public Administration.
At the beginning of the lecture, Mr. Jiang Feng pointed out that territorial disputes, historical understanding, Taiwan issue and human rights issues are the main issues affecting Sino-Japanese relations. These issues will not disappear because of the improvement of Sino-Japanese relations. Then, on the one hand, focusing on the macro historical changes, Jiang analyzed the political, economic and cultural relations between China and Japan in Tang, Song, Ming and Qing Dynasties, as well as comparison of the strength between China and Japan since the Meiji Restoration in 1868 and the Sino-Japanese of 1894. On the other hand, starting from the micro perspective, combining with his own study experience and journalism experience, he showed personal growth history that is closely related to the changes in China and Japan and the changes in the relationship between China and Japan. Finally, Mr. Jiang Feng pointed out that the changes in Sinoc-Japanese relations are rooted in the changes in China and Japan respectively. The changes in China and Japan are mainly reflected in the changes in the strength of the country. The strength of the country cannot be separated from the strength of young people, while the strength of young people is the strength of the country. At the end of the lecture, students asked questions about the content of the lecture actively, and Mr. Jiang Feng gave them detailed answers. The lecture came to an end in warm applause.
In this lecture, Mr. Jiang Feng analyzed the changing China and the changing Japan as well as the changing relations between China and Japan along the historical context.In addition,he explained the complex Sino-Japanese relations in a simple way.
