NNU athletes set for Rio Olympics

NNU will be represented by 3 current student-athletes at the 2016 Olympics Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The opening ceremony of the 2016 Olympics is set for Friday, followed by the start of competition on Saturday.

NNU students competing at the Rio Olympics:

Ruoqi Hui - Women’s Volleyball
Ruoqi Hui, who is studying for a master’s degree at the school of Sports Science and Physical Education, is the captain of Chinese Women national volleyball team. Her key sporting highlights include a gold medal at 2015 Asian Women’ s Volleyball Championship, a silver medal at World Women Volleyball Championship and a gold medal at 2016 Montreux Volley Masters.

Changning Zhang - Women’s Volleyball
Changning Zhang, who is studying for a bachelor’s degree at the school of Sports Science and Physical Education, will make her Olympic debut in Rio. She is one of the main players of Chinese Women national volleyball team now and won a gold medal at 2015 World Women Volleyball Championship.

Jianan Wang - Men’s Long Jump
Jianan Wang, who is studying for a bachelor’s degree at the school of Sports Science and Physical Education, will make her Olympic debut in Rio. He is the first Chinese athlete to get into the top three at the world stage (Olympics and World Championships).
