On December 3rd, under the leadership of Yao Yifeng, a teacher from school of geographical sciences and two graduate students, students of grade 16 Geography Normal Class of the School of Teacher Education went to Qinhuai River, Xuanwu Lake, Yuhuatai Scenic Area, Gaochun, the coast of Yangtze river for a one-week internship in human geography. All members of grade 16 geography normal class participated.

The practice was different from the previous field geological practice. It was not as scientific and rigorous as or as tiring as geological internships. It was full of cultural atmosphere and historical connotation in the stop-and-go and laughter. Each scene had an interesting story, and each period of history had a huge impetus to the development of the city. In the introduction of teacher Yao Yifeng, students suddenly found that there were so many unique aspects behind the Nanjing, a city with a strong sense of history.

 

Under the guidance of teacher Yao Yifeng, all the staff went to the destinations at 8 am every day. Comply with the order was the basic principle of internships. All the members walked or stopped under the teacher’s leadership. In the process of walking, students appreciated the cultural landscape and realized the pleasure of humanity. When stopped, they listened to the teacher's summary of the culture, history and planning of the destination carefully, thought about the development of Nanjing city from ancient to now, and got a comprehensive understanding of the destinations in the discussion.

 

At noon, sometimes students would have class communication or have dinner in the Suiyuan campus of Nanjing Normal University. Short rest time was also used by students to remember these beautiful moments of human landscape. Under the flashing of the camera, they had a deeper understanding of the origin of Nanjing and the urban development and planning of Nanjing in the past two thousand years.

 

This internship enriched the students' knowledge of human geography, which was not limited to theory but also needed to be put into practice. At the same time,it strengthened the cohesion of the class and cultivated students' good moral quality of helping each other. Due to the joint efforts of all the students of grade 16 geography normal class and the leading teacher, the internship activity of human geography in grade 16 geography normal class of the school of teacher education was successfully completed.
