On the morning of September 5th, the lectures on the entrance education for graduate students of the Teachers Education College were successfully carried out in the West Report Hall of the Jingwen Library of Xianlin Campus. The faculty specially invited professor Fan Guorui, a scholar from the Yangtze river, to give a lecture on the evolution and innovation of education system in China in the past 40 years. Professor Yuan specializes in teaching the Yangtze River scholar Fan Guorui as the keynote speaker, explaining the changes and innovations of China's education system in the 40 years of reform and opening up. The lecture was hosted by professor Ye Zhong, dean of education college, and attended by vice President Liu Jian, office director Jin Lijiu, secretary of the communist youth league committee Wang Xin, counselor Gao Xiaoyue and Wang Tianrui. Representatives of primary and secondary school teachers and all graduate students were present to listen.
Professor Fan Guorui is a Distinguished Professor of the Yangtze River Scholars of the Ministry of Education. He is also a researcher at the Institute of Basic Education Reform and Development of the Ministry of Education's Humanities and Social Sciences Key Research Base. He has made great achievements in the field of education and research. In this lecture, Professor Fan Guorui conducted in-depth discussions on efficiency and fairness, regulation and governance, complementation and integration, closure and openness, standardization and selectivity, localization and internationalization, and deeply analyzed four aspects: First is the restoration and reconstruction of the education system, the second is to adhere to the strategic significance of the priority development of education, the third is the change of the diversity of educational forms, and the fourth is the important program of legalization of education governance.

At the beginning of the speech, Professor Fan Guorui recalled the bumpy development of China's education: the Third Plenary Session of the 11th Central Committee decisively stopped the slogan of "taking class struggle as the key link" and made the transfer of the party and state work centers to economic construction. He pointed out that emancipating the mind and establishing the strategic focus of economic construction laid the ideological and material foundation for the later development of education. Until 1992, the 12th National Congress of the Communist Party of China clearly stated that "it must be put in a strategic position of priority development", and Chinese education will usher in a real dawn. Professor Fan also reviewed the "Implementation of the Strategy of Rejuvenating the Country through Science and Education" proposed by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China in 1995. It shows that the state has always adhered to the attitude of giving priority to education, and also expounded the importance of education for national rejuvenation and national prosperity. The audience was deeply convinced that there was a long way to go.

General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out in the report of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China that "this new era is an era of inheriting the past and the future, continuing to open up, and continuing to win the great victory of socialism with Chinese characteristics under new historical conditions." In this era, the form of education has also become more diverse. Professor Fan said: With the use and popularity of the Internet, big data and artificial intelligence, people's learning, living, and working environment are undergoing revolutionary changes. He pointed out that online education is challenging institutionalized school education. Information based on mobile internet is changing the school education environment. At the same time, the "training" of deterministic knowledge is increasingly replaced by artificial intelligence and the education function of physical schools will return to the "education" nature based on human character and social development. Finally, he puts forward higher requirements for teachers: for the realization of the role of “teacher”, teachers need to play the role of an analyst of students' growth data, the leader of value belief, the individualized learning guide, the companion of social learning and the role of caregivers of psychological and emotional development.
