On the afternoon of March 20^th, the volunteers of the School of Teacher Education met punctually with the staff of the “Red Candle”Teenage Volunteer Association at the metro station and went to participate in the association’s long-term project in the primary school on Central Road. The volunteers arrived at the classroom early as to make preparations for the multimedia and materials used in class.

With the ringing of the bell,, students went back to their seats and became quiet and Teacher Liu Xiangyi began to explain the main contents of this class——traffic safety knowledge. Firstly, the teacher prepared some riddles in the PPT for the children to guess and all of them took part in the activity actively. Through this part, the teacher got closer to the students and aroused their enthusiasm to a great extent. There was then an exciting round in which the students vied to get the chance to answer questions. Through this session, it was believed that the students had a deeper understanding about some common senses over traffic safety. In the next session, the monitor led the whole class to read how we should pay attention to traffic safety in our daily life. Finally, the teacher prepared several nursery songs about the theme.

 

In the end of the class, the teacher showed a cartoon about traffic safety. While enjoying the video, the children were also reminded of the problems they should care about when crossing the road and taking the school bus. The students had great pleasure and also grasped more knowledge from the cartoon.

The picture reading class about traffic safety was lively and interesting, thus the students got involved in the class actively. It is hoped that through this class, the students will bear those knowledge in mind in their future life.
