On December 14, the volunteers of the “Source of Love · Children-based Curriculum” in Chaha’er Road Primary School from the “Red Candle” Youth Volunteer Association went to Chaha’er Road Primary School  to bring the series of activities of "what is the imperial examination"  to the second grade students.

The volunteers had prepared the teaching plan and PPT in advance for the new week of teaching. As soon as they entered the classroom, they were surrounded by children asking all kinds of questions. As the bell rang in class, the children began to sit in their seats and do eye exercises. Before the formal class, the children gave the teachers a round of applause. The volunteer teachers introduced "what is the imperial examination" with the beginning of "what  examination forms do eyou know", and combined with the imperial examination museum of Confucius temple in nanjing to encourage children to recall the "imperial examination" they had been exposed to. In addition to "what is the imperial examination", volunteer teachers also introduced many interesting things to the children, such as how to prevent cheating in the imperial examination, the form of imperial examinations. In order to ensure that the classroom could be in line with the second grade children's cognitive level, the volunteer teachers also told about many "imperial examination" celebrities, like Fan jin who fainted after passing the imperial examinations at the provincial level and Bai Juyi, who pass the imperial examinations at the provincial level in a young age. The children listened with great interest. In the process of lecturing, the volunteer teachers also interspersed many ideas to the children.

After class, the teacher in charge of the class also exchanged the class experience with the volunteers, and encouraged the volunteers, and put forward some suggestions for the volunteers' class. Hopefully, with the help of the head teacher, the volunteer teacher can take better classes. It is also believed that in the classroom developed by volunteer teachers, children can learn knowledge, skills and ideas other than textbooks.
