On the afternoon of May 9th, the "Red Candle" Youth Volunteers Association held the final of the “Light Up The Candle of Your Heart” micro-situation play competition in room 401 of XueMing Building. The competition invited Xiaoliang Li and Tianrui Wang, the counselors of the School of Teacher Education as judge teachers, and ke He, president of Lingxi Drama Club, and Yue Gong, head of “Red Candle” Supporting Education Group as judge students. Nearly 80 students from the whole school came to watch the competition.

At the beginning of the competition, the host introduced the rules of the competition and the judges and then officially announced the beginning of the competition. The eight teams which had stood out from the preliminary contest performed according to the order determined by drawing lots. The first team named “Oscar Will Be Gloomy Without Me” came to the stage. The team showed a unique journey of supporting education with different props and standard dialects. The second team was the “The Guardian of Chidishness”. The team members deducted a story that the volunteer teachers walked into the heart of a naughty student with low self-esteem and encouraged her to become confident and hard-working, and made a beautiful appeal that “May every child be loved”. Then came the Team “Drama Queen”. With an attractive story line, the team showed the deep thinking of the lack of rural education resources and the weak conception of family education. Team “Warm Dawn” showed everyone plenty of interesting stories which had happened in the process of supporting education during the summer vocation in a cheerful and humorous way. Team “Volunteer Education Lights Up The Dream" performed a touching story of “when i grow up, I will be you”. Team “Five Elements Lacking In Water” guided the correct way of supporting education for everyone by showing the problems in volunteer teaching. Team “221609” told the audience with poems full of childishness: the starry sky and the sea can also be in the mountains. The last was Team "Please Start Your Show" whose wonderful scientific experiment attracted the applause from the audience.

 

After the wonderful performance of the eight teams, Tianrui Wang, counselor of grade 17 of the School of Teacher Education, made a detailed comment on their performance. Judge teachers saw the advantages and characteristics of each team and pointed out their shortcomings and striving direction with careful observation. Finally, through the tense live accounting, the host announced the results of the competition. The final of the “Light Up The Candle of Your Heart” micro-situation play competition came to a successful conclusion.

Through the careful preparation of the staff of "Red Candle" Youth Volunteers Association and the hard rehearsals of the contestants, the micro-situation play competition presented a rich and colorful content of supporting education, vivid stage performance and profound thinking behind the script. We believe that through this competition, we will have a deeper understanding and thinking about supporting education and we also look forward to your participation in supporting education, helping public welfare, and igniting more children's chidishness and dreams with our practical actions.(School of Teacher Education: Lin Chen)
